Welcome to Niagara County

Dear Parents,

We congratulate you on your child's acceptance to Niagara University and are pleased to welcome you to scenic Niagara USA. Situated on picturesque Monteagle Ridge, Niagara University overlooks the Niagara River gorge, just four miles from Niagara Falls. Niagara USA is rich with history, culture, outdoor life, shopping, adventure and agriculture. The region boasts unrivaled vantage points of the world-famous waterfalls and offers countless events and attractions throughout the year.

City life. The city of Niagara Falls, located ten minutes from campus, synthesizes urban attractions-shopping, restaurants, museums, and concerts-with the natural beauty of Niagara Falls, America's oldest state park. Niagara Falls offers breathtaking views of the renowned rushing torrents and provides attractions such as the Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds to bring visitors closer to the falls.

Outdoors. Situated just minutes from campus, Devil's Hole State Park is a favorite sunny day destination for students and locals. A walkway descending into the Niagara gorge presents stunning up-close views of the turbulent currents. Several nature trails traverse the gorge, offering excellent hiking and fishing opportunities. Hikers can even walk to neighboring Whirlpool State Park to experience the fury of the Whirlpool rapids or hike along the gorge rim to behold stunning views of the Niagara River Escarpment.

History. The vibrant Village of Lewiston, located along the Niagara River, is home to celebrated restaurants and quaint shops and is alive with history from the Underground Railroad. The village hosts festivals celebrating food, fine arts, gardens, historic houses, jazz, harvest and the Annual Peach Festival. It is also home to Earl W. Brydges Artpark State Park which features concert and theatre productions and visual art programs. North of Lewiston, on the banks of Lake Ontario, Old Fort Niagara presents a colorful history, spectacular scenery, as well as the oldest buildings on the Great Lakes.

Entertainment. Be sure to discover the nearby Fashion Outlets of Niagara, the world-class Seneca Niagara Casino, and the Niagara Wine Trail.

A lively community with plenty to do and see, Niagara USA is diverse and bustling, quaint and historic, welcoming and inspiring. We hope you enjoy your time here.

Sincerely,
