New Mexico State University is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified students in accordance with state and federal laws. Services for Students with Disabilities offers a variety of services to students with documented physical, learning, or psychological disabilities.
New Students
Students seeking services or accommodations must be registered with Services for Students with Disabilities. To do this a student must:
1. Schedule an appointment with the Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities.
2. Provide appropriate documentation. Examples of professionals who can supply appropriate documentation of a disability are:
- Licensed Practitioner
- Educational Diagnostician
- Psychologist or Psychiatrist
- Audiologist or Otolaryngologist (ENT)
- Physician
3. Complete the Student Intake Form and the Student Instructions and Agreement
At the beginning of each semester or summer session, students should submit necessary forms and follow the procedure indicated on SSD website.
Accommodations
Students must bring in documentation supporting the needed accommodation, fill out our Student Information Form, and meet with the SSD Coordinator before accommodations can be made. Please contact the SSD Coordinator for more details.
