Thirty-seven organizations attended the Spring 2012 Career Fair. There was a great mix of corporations, government agencies and contractors, laboratories, non-profits, graduate programs, and other types of organizations. Eleven of the organizations attended the fair for the first time in at least five years (and several for the first time ever). Twenty-two were recruiting for some sort of student position (internships, cooperative education, or summer positions). Scientific Drilling International, NAVAIR, and Peabody Energy all interviewed students on campus following the fair, and more than half of the employers indicated plans to move forward in the application process with Tech students, with the possibility of extending offers of employment.

Nearly 500 students, faculty, and staff attended Career Fair, a 33% increase from last spring's fair. Students appreciated the Pre-Career Fair workshops that our office offers to help students get ready for the fair: Resume and Cover Letter Writing, Networking/Preparing for Career Fair, and Interviewing Skills. Over 120 students attended the workshops.

The Fall 2012 Career Fair will be on September 20th, and we are planning for an even bigger event than this spring's fair. Information about the fair will be available at www.nmt.edu/career-fair as the date approaches.
