Off Campus Housing
Will your student be moving off campus next year? Let Housing and Residential Communities' Off Campus Resources office can assist your student in making that transition.
Following are some tips to share with your student:
- Encourage your student to select a roommate(s) s/he know will be financially responsible for their share of the rent, utilities, etc.
- Make sure you and your student read the lease carefully and keep a copy of the lease in a safe place for future reference.

Mid-Term Grades
Mid-terms grades will be posted by March 3, 2010 for many 100 and 200 level courses. This is a great time to check-in with your student and discuss their academic progress at the Capstone. Students who have less than satisfactory progress at mid-term, will receive an e-mail from the Dean of Students Office informing them of campus resources and academic support. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with a staff member to discuss their grades, if they desire. We urge students whose progress in nine or more credit hours is less than satisfactory to schedule a meeting as soon as possible. This can assist students in matriculating successfully at UA if we are able to reach them early in the academic semester. For more information about mid-term grades, please contact Dr. Lowell K. Spring Break Airport Shuttles
Housing and Residential Communities will be coordinating a shuttle service for students, faculty and staff with shuttles leaving Tuscaloosa on Thursday, March 11th at 2pm and 5pm and on Friday, March 12th at 7am, 10am, 2pm, 5pm. The shuttle will pick up at the Birmingham airport on Sunday, March 21st at 2pm, 5pm, 9pm. If your student will need transportation, he/she must go by the Housing and Residential Communities office in Mary Burke Hall. All reservations must be made in person. The cost is $30 one way or $60 round trip. Payment can be made by check or credit card. Students are limited to one medium size suitcase and one carry-on bag.
