Clinton Global Initiative University: Three Days, 1,000 New Commitments, 290,000 Lives Impacted
The third Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) meeting was held on the University of Miami's Coral Gables campus April 16-18, generating new student service projects, dubbed Commitments to Action, aimed at solving some of the world's most intractable problems. Hosted by former President Bill Clinton, the three-day conference drew more than 1,300 students from 83 countries and all 50 states, along with university presidents, administrators, and national youth leaders, to discuss and devise strategies to make the world a better place. When most people think of a school of education, they imagine a place where training teachers is the primary if not only activity. At the University of Miami's School of Education, teacher training is vitally important, but is only one facet of a novel and dynamic educational unit.
There are three departments in the school: Teaching and Learning, Educational and Psychological Studies, and Exercise and Sport Sciences. Housing Check-Out Information
If your son or daughter is currently living on-campus, he or she must check out of his or her room or apartment no later than 24 hours after their last final examination. Graduating students and other students participating in commencement must check out of their rooms and apartments by 2:00pm, Saturday, May 15.
Students who have applied for Summer Session I housing by Friday, May 14 may remain in their spring housing assignment and then begin moving into their summer assignment on Monday, May 17 from 5:00-10:00pm. Moveover continues on Tuesday, May 18 from 9:00am until 3:00pm when they must be checked out of their spring housing assignment. Read More |
