Our family would like to express appreciation for the NSU Parent Program because it has allowed us to feel connected to the college and community of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

The updated information, provided to members about college life, student activities, athletic events, and other school services, has been a valuable resource that has allowed our family to participate in our daughter’s college life.  The timely, easy access to important college information has helped to make our daughter’s college experience a success.

As a member of the NSU Parent Program, our family is not only better informed but also given discounts at local restaurants, university events, and purchases made at the Riverhawk Shoppe. On each visit to the campus and community, we are thankful for the benefits afforded us through this program.

Our daughter Taylor absolutely loves NSU, and I want to thank the NSU parent program for helping to make her college experience the best it can be for not only Taylor but also our family.

My grandson, Hunter Akers, is in his second semester at Northeastern State University. His father and I were introduced to the NSU Parent Program at the time he enrolled.

The program is unique, and you will rarely find many colleges or universities big or small that has a program like this that works to keep the family involved and informed in this transition from high school to college.

We have benefited from the discounts offered at hotels and retail shops in Tahlequah. It is nice to present the ID card and be offered a discount for your accommodations or purchases. More importantly than the discount though is the personal contact we have with the staff in the Parent Association. They truly have an interest in Hunter’s success at NSU, not just his success as a football player or as a student, but also his success as he develops into a young man.

I cannot tell you how much my family appreciates the opportunity to pick up the phone and call or send an email and have an answer shortly.

We recommend the NSU Parent Association membership without reservation. We are proud of Hunter and the young man he is becoming as a student at NSU. It is nice to have a partner in this college experience.
