Passion Works Studio
Since 1998, Passion Works Studio has been fostering collaborations between artists with and without disabilities. Their one-of-a-kind pieces have proved extremely popular and very beloved. The works, including greeting cards, jewelry and “passion flowers”, the official flower of Athens, Ohio, are available throughout Athens County and the Passion Works Studio Gallery Shop on East State Street in Athens. Music in Athens County
Stuart’s Opera House
Built in 1879, Stuart’s Opera House is one of Ohio’s last remaining fully operating Opera Houses, and is located in Nelsonville’s Historic Square Arts District. Stuart’s Opera House is home to several theater troupes with many annual theatrical productions, and produces the Nelsonville Music Festival, held in May. Federal Valley Concert Series

History in Athens County
Taming the Frontier at Robbins Crossing
Step into a pioneer’s shoes at Robbins Crossing. Located on the Hocking College campus, the living history site recreates and 1850s village. Whether it’s a trip to the general store or blacksmith shop or a tour through the Anthony Gladden and Wolfe houses, the period village brings history to life.
Robbins Crossing is open each weekend from Memorial Day through the end of October and is right on the Hocking College campus in Nelsonville off Route 33. Other fun ways to visit Robbins Crossing: as a stop on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway or by bike on the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. Call (740) 753-6344 for more information.
