Emergency Preparedness Information
Ohio University’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) meets on a regular basis to ensure that the appropriate channels are in place to respond to various emergency situations.
If an emergency on campus is a critical incident, or becomes a critical incident, you will find information through some or all of the following, depending on the incident and the conditions at the time:
- All channels of campus televisions connected to CATvision
- Ohio University’s homepage
- Campus e-mail to students
- Text message to students
- Emergency website
- (740) 597-1800 for a recorded message (on Athens campus, 7-1800)
- Non-tech methods (on-the-ground teams, bullhorns, posted alerts, etc.)
