UW Oshkosh offers students many opportunities outside of the classroom to challenge themselves academically and explore the world. For more information about our academic offerings, visit Academics.

National Student Exchange

The Office of International Education, Dempsey 146, offers the National Student Exchange (NSE) program, which provides students with affordable and practical opportunities within the U.S. and Canada to experience new settings in which to study and live. NSE is comprised of 185 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. Students pay tuition to UW Oshkosh not to the host campus.

NSE students explore new academic options, immerse themselves in a different environment, search for graduate schools or future employment, acquire life skills, experience life from a new point of view, and expand their personal and educational perspectives.  (920) 424-0775 • web site

Study Abroad

Study abroad is a transformative experience, leading to personal growth, the pursuit of knowledge and skills, and options for advancing unique and diverse personal and professional goals. Through the Office of International Education, Dempsey 146, UW Oshkosh runs programs that can last from two weeks to a full year abroad.

On faculty-led programs, a UW Oshkosh faculty member accompanies a group of UW Oshkosh students throughout their stay in the foreign country or on an entry tour at the beginning of the experience.

In traditional study-abroad programs, UW Oshkosh students travel individually or in groups to study at one of UW Oshkosh’s partner institutions abroad. Students are enrolled directly in the host institution and typically are part of the general student body. These programs offer a high level of immersion, a wide range of courses at the host institution and use of the host institution’s facilities.

In student exchange programs, students pay the tuition of their home university while studying abroad. Students are enrolled directly in the host university.
