UW Oshkosh’s Student Health Center provides a full range of health care services to all registered students. The staff consists of experienced and credentialed professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical technologists, health educator and support personnel.

Routine services include evaluation, treatment and/or referral of medical problems and injuries; diagnosis and treatment of mental health problems; male and female general health care; gynecological health care; physicals for work/sports/travel; STD/HIV counseling and testing; travel health and tobacco cessation counseling; immunizations, allergy injections, laboratory testing; limited pharmacy services and procedures.

Students pay a health fee each semester as part of their tuition. Most office visits are free; minimal charges apply for supplies, procedures, lab tests and medications. Charges may be paid by cash, check and TitanCard or billed to the student’s University account. The health center does not bill health insurance.

Before your student heads to college, immunizations should be up to date. You may refer to the Wisconsin Immunization Registry to view immunizations. There are no immunization requirements for entrance into college.
 
Students should be covered locally by a health insurance plan, and they should carry a copy of their health insurance card. They need to be aware of which medical facilities and medical providers in the community are covered by their health insurance plan.

For students who do not have health insurance, information about a plan endorsed by the University is available.

Medical records are confidential. Your student must sign a Medical Authorization form in order for University staff to share medical information with you.
