The Department of Academic Advising is committed to a holistic approach to student needs and issues. Each of the six professional academic advisors possesses an advanced degree and years of experience. Each student will be assigned a faculty member or professional academic advisor to serve as their academic advisor. Upper-class students will have academic advisors who are faculty members within the department of their major.
In order to help your student adjust to university life, the Student Life Office has two programs, The First Year Mentor Program and The First Year Success Series, designed just for our first year students.

Once your student enrolls for classes at Cal Poly Pomona, he/she will be under a new set of laws that protect the privacy of their records. It may come as a surprise when family members call CPP and find they cannot gain access to all information concerning their student's records.
