All college owned housing will close at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2013. All residents must vacate their room or apartment within 24 hours of their last exam.

Friday, May 3 is the last day for students to withdraw from a course(s) for the spring semester. Withdrawal from a course should be considered as a final option for students who do not believe they will attain a grade high enough to pass a course.

The term, helicopter parent, has become official: according to the updated Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary, a ‘helicopter parent' is a parent who is overly involved in the life of his or her child.

Preparing to graduate is one of the most exciting times for students and their families! For students, it could mean they are off to begin the grand career they have studied so hard for, or it could mean they are on the next academic step of graduate school, or maybe even taking some much deserved time off to travel.

The results are in, and Niagara University's ROTC program is still outstanding. As part of the Second ROTC Brigade Senior Leader Conference held Jan. 7-10, 2013, the Purple Eagle Battalion was recognized for achieving the highest overall average ranking on the 2012 National Accessions Order of Merit List within the Second ROTC Brigade.

Niagara University has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll every year since its inception.

That's now seven years in a row for those counting at home.

The 26th president of Niagara University will be the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., D.Min.

The Catholic and Vincentian institution announced that Father Maher, currently the executive vice president for mission and student services at St. John's University, would succeed the Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M. Father Levesque announced in January that he would be resigning from his position at the conclusion of the current academic year.

Alan Alda, best-known for his portrayal as Hawkeye Pierce on the landmark TV series M*A*S*H, will deliver the 15th SCSU Mary and Louis Fusco Distinguished Lecture - "Things I Overheard While Talking to Myself" - on May 3, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the SCSU Lyman Center for the Performing Arts.

Graduation is a special time in the lives of both students and families. It is a time for celebration, reflection, and new beginnings.
