Campus Safety is here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist Temple students, employees and visitors. There are many safety features, including extensive lighting, code blue emergency phones, a state-of-the-art camera system, an integrated computer-aided-dispatch system link with the Philadelphia 911 system, and well-trained police and security personnel.

Shuttle Services

Temple University provides shuttle service (The Owl Loop) that traverses the Main Campus from dusk till dawn (5 PM to 6 AM). Visit Facilities Management Shuttles and click on “Main Campus Intra-Campus Bus Shuttle” for various stops.

TU Alert

The TU-Alert notification is Temple University’s communication plan in the event of a campus emergency requiring immediate action on the part of the campus community. Temple will use TU-Alert to notify the campus community in several ways:

• An e-mail will be sent to all student and employee TU mail accounts
• A voice message and text message will be sent to all registered cell phones
• A voice message will be sent to all registered landlines

In addition to the TU-Alert notifications, a yellow bar will be placed across the top of the Temple home page. This bar will link to an emergency notification page with the additional information.

TU Advisory

Temple related and non-Temple related incidents that are considered to pose a serious or continuing threat to students and employees warrant a timely warning e-mail. The intent of a timely warning is to keep the campus community informed about safety and security issues on an on-going basis, and aid in preventing future incidents. No immediate action is required. Once an incident is identified, a timely warning email will be composed to include the following: time, location and type of crime, information to promote safety, prevention information, and contact information for questions.
