Campus Safety Services is staffed by well trained police and security personnel.  We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist Temple students, employees and visitors. Temple University has many safety features, including extensive lighting, code blue emergency phones, a state of- the-art camera system, and an integrated computer-aided-dispatch (C.A.D) system to the Philadelphia Police C.A.D. system. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our department through our Annual Security and Fire Safety report.

Shuttle Services

From dusk till dawn, Temple University provides a Shuttle service that traverses the Main Campus when classes are in session. The Owl Loop makes stops at designated locations throughout the campus, including residence hall buildings. The TU Door shuttle provides direct service to your home within a set geographical area. Buses depart from the transportation hub located at 12th & Berks Streets.

TU Ready

Emergency Management and Continuity Planning TU Ready is Temple University’s emergency readiness initiative and a great resource for what students can do to be aware and be prepared in the event of an incident. The TU Ready website details specific information including evacuation maps, designated rallying points, and how to effectively shelter in place. We also offer training videos for recommended response procedures and continuity planning for the university.

In addition to response procedures, TU Ready coordinates emergency notification procedures on campus including: the activation of the TU Siren; TU Alert; and TU Advisory. The best way to stay informed during an incident is to register for TU Alert which sends information directly to your student's cell phone. For more information on our TU Ready program and TU Alert notifications.
