Temple University’s Department of Campus Recreation is the coordinating office for recreational sports programs at Main Campus. Nearly 3,000 students, faculty and staff participate daily in one or more of the various activities offered by Campus Recreation. These activities include intra- murals (men’s, women’s, co-rec and open), sport clubs, informal recreation, special events and programs, group fitness, adapted recreation and aquatics.

Recreational Facilities

Independence Blue Cross Student Recreation Center

Features three floors of fitness areas, including free weights, cardiovascular machines, group fitness room, martial arts/Spinning® room, racquetball courts, indoor track and outdoor multi-purpose court.

The Student Pavilion

Features four indoor multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor golf driving range and table tennis. The complex also contains an outdoor tennis area with seven lighted tennis courts, one of which is equipped for roller hockey and inline skating, and a sand volleyball court.

Features an opportunity for recreational swimming, with specific hours identified for lap swim only. Water Aerobics Group Fitness sessions are also offered here.
