The students, faculty, and staff have waited in anticipation this semester for Chick-fil-A Express to open its doors. Construction began in December of 2010 just before students departed for the holiday break. Three months later, on March 2, the wait finally ended as the Floyd Payne Campus Center Food Court added Chick-fil-A to the menu of restaurants available. Because spirits had been high for quite some time over the addition, the wait for a chicken sandwich was close to 30 minutes at times the following Thursday, March 3. The line to order extended about 60 feet, but there were no qualms as individuals were ready for Chick-fil-A to arrive.

The decision to add Chick-fil-A to the menu had been a long going discussion for dining services on the TSU campus. The request for new cuisine had been brought to attention of James Cooke, Food Service Director. Several options were thrown on the table, but in the end, Chick-fil-A prevailed. For a mere $5.95, any patron can get a chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and a medium lemonade. The eatery replaced Grille Works which served hamburgers, fish sandwiches and other American classics.

Other dining includes a wide variety of delicious offerings such as Montague's Deli, KFC, Starbucks, and Pizza Hut. TSU Campus Dining brands include Pizza & Pasta, Salad Garden, Home Zone, and Just 4 U. The buffet style cafeteria is also available to students and meal plan cards are accepted everywhere on campus.
