The 2009 - 2010 academic year is coming to a close. As parents, I hope that you have been informed about university events and provided good information to assist you and your child in their first year of college. This year has been filled with many successes and learning curves for our students. I hope that they can walk away from their first year of college having laid a strong foundation to move forward in their academic pursuits.

PELL Grants for Summer School

Each academic year a new FAFSA is completed and students are evaluated for PELL and other financial aid eligibility. In general, students must be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate program to be eligible for PELL grants. These are awarded to students based on need. For the 2010-11 academic year, students must have a processed FAFSA with an EFC of less than 4618 to receive any PELL grant awards. These are grants and therefore do not have to be repaid. At TSU, we have a priority processing deadline of April 1st for FAFSA, but a PELL eligible student will not be denied PELL if this deadline is not met...
