Family Weekend 2010

We invite you to join other UA Parents and Families for a special weekend on campus. This annual fall event provides an opportunity for you to visit your students’ campus home, tour the New Landscape for Learning, cheer on the Zips to a football victory and meet other Akron families.
The date for Family weekend 2010 is still to be determined. For updates and information please visit the Family Weekend web site.
The website includes all events, lodging information and an on-line registration form. Reminder postcards will be mailed to the families of each student on or before September 15, 2010. This mailer will be sent to the address on file with The University of Akron’s Registrars office.
Events to look forward to:
- Visit with Zippy, the 2007 Capital One Mascot of the Year!
- Live entertainment and activities
- Parents and Family Association Annual meeting
- Akron Zips Football games
- And much, much more
Things to know ahead of time:
- Homecoming and Family Weekend check-in will take place in the Student Union. At check-in you will receive all tickets, materials and information you need for the weekend. No tickets for paid events will be mailed to you in advance.
- Suggested attire for Family Weekend includes comfortable shoes and casual attire appropriate for fall weather. All events are accessible by walking or using the Roo Express shuttle service.
- Parking on campus in the student lots is free the Saturday and Sunday of Family Weekend with the exception of lots used for football game parking on Saturday.
