University of Akron Athletics
A member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), The University of Akron sponsors 19 NCAA Division I athletic programs. The over 400 Zips student-athletes, as part of the department’s mission, are challenged to be champions in the classroom, in their athletic venues and in the greater Akron Community.
In 2010, the Zips Men’s Soccer team captured the school’s first team national championship in any sport.
InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field
InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field is home to the Zips football team, and features locker and team meeting rooms for men’s and women’s soccer, baseball and softball, and houses the Department of Sport Science and Wellness Education. This new facility has generated a new level of excitement, spirit and pride for The University of Akron and Zips athletics.
Tickets
Tickets are required for all home football, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s soccer events. University of Akron students receive complimentary admission to all home Akron Zips athletic events with their Zip Card.
Family and friends can purchase tickets at the Athletic Ticket Office located at the InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field (375 East Exchange Street). Tickets may also be purchased by calling (888) 99-AKRON (25766) or on the Tickets Office web site.
Merchandise
Located at the InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field (375 East Exchange Street) the Zips Team Shop is the place to go for all your Zips game day and spirit attire. The Zips Team Shop is open Monday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Zips merchandise can also be purchased on the Zips web site, which features team schedules and additional information.
