Business Leadership Connection

Take courses, form study groups and lasting friendships, and acquire business skills with other freshmen business majors.

Dance and Theatre: The Artists’ Community

Explore your creative and intellectual potential with The Artists’ Community, your ticket to innovative dance, theatre performance, and faculty support outside the classroom.

Future Education Professionals

Students will participate in Akron Classroom Education Students (ACES) workshops and presentations, and join College of Education faculty during social programs.

Nursing: Living, Learning and Leading

Nursing students have created their own vibrant community supporting and enriching each other as they advance toward health care careers.

Women in Engineering

Take advantage of mentoring, trips to engineering firms, study support, guest speakers and social activities as inspired by the popular SEE UA Camp (Summer Experience in Engineering).

Army ROTC

While participating in ROTC and taking military science class, Army ROTC community first-year cadets will be provided with an additional level of support from individuals sharing the same work ethic and values.

Athletic Training

This community provides students with opportunities for faculty and allied health profession interactions while incorporating the Athletic Training Education program mission and goals.

Fine Arts

All School of Art students can join peers in an environment that fosters creative development and study, arts programming and learning cohorts.

GATE – Dietetics

Students participating in this environmentally conscious community will gain an immediate relationship with faculty from multiple fields while exploring dietetics through issues related to water quality.

Outdoor Adventure

This community offers students opportunities to engage in outdoor activities such as white-water rafting, mountain climbing and camping.

Polymer Exploratory

The University’s rich tradition in the scientific study and application of polymer science provides an amazing opportunity for any student interested in engineering and science to be guided by polymer science master’s and doctoral graduate students.

Pre-Law

Open to students in any major interested in pursuing a law degree after graduation, participants will have the opportunity to network with guest speakers, attorneys and law professors through integrated programming and study sessions.

Service and Civic Engagement

Students with a passion for making a difference and focused on academic success and leadership are offered the opportunity to interact with faculty and community leaders.

Pre-Med

Students interested in attending medical school will apply their specific academic major (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.) into one community of diverse educational backgrounds.

Men-In-Engineering

This community is designed to allow students to meet other men with similar goals, study schedules and academic requirements, and provide an environment that promotes academic success.

Emerging Leaders Program

Emerging Leaders is an opportunity for first-year students to become engaged in leadership development, civic engagement and self-discovery while experiencing college life through academic achievement and mentoring.

French Quarter

This community provides students opportunities to develop proficiency in the French language and cultures and become engaged in today’s global world.

Blue, Gold & Green
