The Health and Wellness Center at UCA
The mission of the health and wellness center is to promote the optimal academic performance and life-long healthy behaviors of UCA students through acquisition of knowledge, skills, and behavioral change.
What we do and how we do our work at the UCA Health and Wellness Center is guided by:
- Work based on the health education model that draws from biological, behavioral, sociological/anthropological, and health sciences.
- Health needs of UCA students determined by, but not limited to, surveys, focus groups, national and local data, needs assessment, and student organizations.
- Evidence-based best practices and professional standards to better insure maximum results.
The Health and Wellness Center includes a dietician’s office, research center, private viewing room with a selection of health related DVDs, private relaxation room with a Panasonic massage lounger and a reading corner stocked with a variety of books on current health issues and health-related topics.
The Wellness center also provides several technology based resources including a personal wellness assessment, health risk assessment and a diet analysis.
Services through the Health & Wellness Center are provided free of charge to students.
