At UC Irvine, students don’t need to have their own car. UCI’s award-winning Sustainable Transportation program makes it easy to go green and save.

  • Is your student going home, taking a trip or running an errand? Don’t bring a car – sign up for Zipcar! The Zipcar program offers low cost vehicle rental for students ages 18 and up. Some restrictions may apply. Visit Zipcar
  • Leave the driving, ride a bus. Ride OCTA bus anywhere in the county for one low membership fee with our new University Pass Program. Visit OCTA
  • Take the train. UCI students can purchase a Metrolink or Amtrak monthly or 10 trip pass to qualify for the UCI 20% rebate program. To complete the trip to campus, OCTA bus route 473 runs between the Tustin Metrolink station and UC Irvine.  Metrolink schedules and route information can be found at Metrolink.  Amtrak information can be found at Amtrak
  • Carpooling is easier with ASUCI’s Carpool on Facebook. Users can view each other’s Facebook profiles before deciding with whom they want to travel. Please go to Associated Students of UCI for more information.
  • ASUCI’s campus shuttles have routes that pick up/drop off every 5-7 minutes. GPS tracking is available for all buses, allowing passengers to view the real time locations of shuttles and estimated arrival times at each stop. The campus shuttles also stop at several locations in Newport Beach, including the Fashion Island shopping center, UC Irvine sail base, and the Newport Peninsula. Please visit Shuttle Services for more information.
  • Biking is a fast way to get around campus, and it helps reduce stress. Need a bike? We have one to share. Become a charter member of ZotWheels, the new innovative bikeshare system on campus! Visit ZotWheels
