Dear UC Irvine Parents,

As you know, California is facing unprecedented budget challenges and the state's higher education system has been hit especially hard. I would like to thank you for your understanding and patience as we negotiate these difficult circumstances.

Sometimes great ideas are born in unlikely places. The inspiration for ZotWheels, UC Irvine's New Bike-Sharing System, came to Ronald Fleming in a Palm Springs-area outlet mall, where the interim director of Parking & Transportation Services had gotten a stroller for his young daughter from a self-serve vending station.

The Center for Service in Action (CSA) is a great place for UCI students to get involved! The CSA promotes volunteerism and the importance community service and experiential learning plays in students' education. Programs and services offered through the center encourage students to develop a sense of civic responsibility through meaningful and mutually beneficial service, and education about social concerns.

They're here! UCI Hospitality & Dining Services has opened several new dining locations for this academic year.

These include Jamba Juice, Wahoo's Fish Tacos, Java City, Espress Yourself Coffee Cart, and Panda Express.

Formerly known as Student Judicial Affairs in the Office of the Dean of Students, we have recently changed our name to the Office of Student Conduct to reflect the office's commitment to embracing a more educational approach to resolving student conduct matters.

The UCI Bookstore is a great place for all your holiday shopping. Whether it's a killer deal on an Apple MacBook, or the new novel that your niece is craving, or that big fluffy Anteater you know you've been waiting to make an excuse to buy, you can find it at The UCI Bookstore.
