How does UCO address drug and alcohol use and abuse?

University of Central Oklahoma is a “dry campus.” We do not allow alcohol in campus housing or at student events on campus. Drug and alcohol abuse is not tolerated at the university, and students in violation are given appropriate disciplinary sanctions. Several peer education programs are in place to educate students on issues related to drug and alcohol use and abuse.

What can you do as a parent to support your student during the beginning of the next semester?

Recognizing nonperformance in your student is a challenge – especially at long distance. One of the most important things a parent can do for a college-age student is to demonstrate interest. Being interested is different from being demanding. It is more “I’d like to know” than “You owe me this information.”
