University of Central Oklahoma Parent Guide
Welcome from the Vice President
Welcome, family members, to the University of Central Oklahoma! We are so delighted that you and your student are joining the UCO Broncho family. This moment marks a new chapter in the life of your student and you, and it is our great pleasure to provide you with as smooth and enjoyable an experience as possible.
As a parent myself, I know you want the very best for your son or daughter. The University of Central Oklahoma provides numerous opportunities for your student to get involved, meet friends, make discoveries in the classroom, and to have new cultural encounters; all this in an environment of safety, support and encouragement.
While we have worked hard all year long to prepare this welcome, we know you — the parents and family members of the incoming class — are key to your student’s success. With your continued caring and conversation, your sons or daughters will know there is a team, at UCO and back home, who is cheering for their success.
Beginning with Parent Orientation in the fall, you have opportunities to learn more about the UCO campus, its services and traditions, as well as the community of Edmond. We offer this guide book to use as a reference as you navigate this new path of your son or daughter’s journey. We also invite you to become a member of the Parents’ Association, which offers ways to stay in touch with university news and get information about family events on campus.
Please enjoy your visit to the University of Central Oklahoma. We look forward to working as partners to help students achieve their dreams.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Gage, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Affairs
