First Year Success Series

In order to help your student adjust to university life, the staff and faculty of UCR have come together to create the First Year Success Series.

This series of workshops touches on varying aspects of the university: from basic time management tips and study methods to trips to local art museums and intimate discussions with faculty about their passions and current research projects.

These out-of-the-classroom workshops can help your student not only become more comfortable at the university, by getting to know other students and staff that they can access as resources, but it also may connect them to possible internship positions or on-campus employment opportunities.

Above all, the series can help your student succeed. And as a bonus, the university offers incentives for attending these workshops! By completing a certain number of workshops, your student can become a full-fledged Success Series Scholar.
