Student Life, houses a variety of first-year experience programs, leadership initiatives, is the headquarters for student organizations, and is the center of large-scale events on-campus.
The first-year experience section of Student Life is comprised of Highlander Orientation and the First-Year Success Series, a year-long workshop series focused on helping first-year student’s transition into and succeed in college.
The student organization section of Student Life (called Community) provides comprehensive support and assistance to student organizations. This includes assistance with university recognition, recruitment, program and event planning, major event management, understanding the university policies, and helping support the organizations in many other additional ways.
Student Life also collaborates with the Associated Students Program Board (ASPB) to host the largest of the on-campus events at UCR; these include annual concerts such as Block Party and Spring Splash, which are also the greatest ways to find out other ways to become involved on campus by meeting active student leaders.
