The Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA)

 

In order to protect the privacy of students, educational records, such as grades and tuition statements, are considered confidential under a federal law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA provides students, including those under 18, with two essential rights. As a result, students have the following important related responsibilities:

A career defender of civil rights and the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall fought to correct the social, educational, and cultural inequities in the U.S., and inspires the UC San Diego College that is named after him (formerly Third College).

Revelle College at UC San Diego

Revelle College is UC San Diego's first college, named in honor of Roger Revelle, the chief architect of the University in its early years and a recipient of the President's Medal for Science.
