The Honors College is open to all UIC students.  Students can apply to be in the Honors College their first semester as long as their cumulative GPA is a 3.4/4.0 and they have at least three semesters left before graduation.
 
After participating in the Honors College beyond their freshman year, students will be assigned Honors College Fellows within their field of study. Students and fellows meet at least once per semester to decide on an honors activity and to review the student’s academic progress. The fellow acts as a mentor and offers academic advice to the student.
