About the University of Minnesota
As one of the top research universities in the nation, the University of Minnesota connects its students with world-class faculty while introducing them to a dynamic urban community with vast opportunities for arts, recreation, sports, and entertainment. More importantly, the University’s location in the midst of two large cities provides professional connections that will support students’ education now and expand their career options for the future.
The University of Minnesota has been teaching students and contributing knowledge to the state, nation, and world since 1851. It is one of the largest universities in the United States with campuses in the Twin Cities, Crookston, Duluth, Morris, and Rochester. Last fall’s freshman class included 5,106 students.
From the Minnesota State Fair, scheduled at the start of the of the school year and located adjacent to the St. Paul campus, to the St. Paul Winter Carnival in January, the Minneapolis Aquatennial in July, and on-campus events and activities throughout the year, students and their guests can find something for everyone nearby.
