Welcome from Coordinator of Parent Programs

On behalf of the Parent Program Office we are delighted that your son or daughter has decided to attend UNC Charlotte and is now a brand new 49er.

UNC Charlotte’s community looks forward to assisting in your transition as a new member of the Niner Nation Family. As a unit within the Division of Student Affairs, our programs are intended to assist parents and families in understanding the goals and expectations of this dynamic University community and to introduce you to the valuable services and programs on campus.

On behalf of the Office of Niner Nation Family, we extend a special invitation to you to join other parents and families interested in sharing and supporting their student’s educational experience. Because we realize that parents and family members are a very important part of the university community, we will strive to provide programs and services to parents and families of UNC Charlotte students and commit to:

• Ensuring a smooth transition to the University experience
• Keeping you informed through open channels of communication with the University
• Connecting you to our Niner Nation family!

Joining Niner Nation Family is free to all UNC Charlotte parents and family members. To join, simply contact the Niner Nation Family at (704) 687-2635 or fill out the membership form on our website at www.parents.uncc.edu.

Two traditions within the Parent Program Office that we invite you to become a part of is to: participate in our annual Family Weekend that occurs in the fall and Family Day that occurs in the spring.

Family Weekend

Every fall parents and families have an opportunity to come back to UNC Charlotte and participate with their student in many activities and events, such as athletic events, programs provided by students, faculty and staff the entire weekend. As the weekend approaches, parents and families should check the Niner Nation Family website for registration and program information.

Family Day

Every spring, the Dean of Students Office invites family members of current students to campus for a day to experience UNC Charlotte. This event is held in conjunction with Homecoming. Families gather to enjoy our beautiful campus, eat delicious food, win fabulous door prizes, meet some of our faculty and staff, listen to informative presentations and cheer the 49ers on to victory in their annual Homecoming basketball game. As the day approaches, parents and family members should check the Niner Nation Family website for registration and program information.
