Job/Internship Experience

You may want your son or daughter to work in your hometown every summer. However, a lifeguard or coffee shop job does not compare favorably to an internship (paid or unpaid) in the career field that your student aspires to enter.

Employers seek students with relevant work experience. Some students have little to write about on a resume if their summers are spent in a non-relevant capacity. Consider all the options and talk to your student about their career aspirations and summer plans. Information about part-time and off campus employment can be found at our web site.
