Named after Salmon P. Chase, the Secretary of Treasury during the Civil War, Chase Hall is the largest building at the Academy and serves as the sole barracks for approximately 1,000 cadets and officer candidates. All students are housed on campus.  Emblazoned on its foyer deck are words of RADM Stephen H. Evans, Superintendent of the Academy (1960-1962): “Who lives here reveres honor, honors duty”. He implemented what is today known as the “Honor Concept”, a way of life characterized by total honesty and integrity.
