Adjustment to University Life

How long does it generally take for incoming students to adjust to University life?

Students generally establish their initial social patterns within the first three weeks. This means that they have identified peers with whom they will share meals, walk to classes, etc. Most students are well adjusted to University life by the Thanksgiving holiday. It may take other students well into their spring semester to settle into college life.

Activities

How do students become involved in organizations and activities?

An Organizational Fair will be held during the first two weeks of the fall semester. At that time students will have the opportunity to meet with student leaders and members of the various organizations on campus.
Announcements of meetings and events are posted on the general bulletin boards and TVs throughout the University, as well as in the weekly “Campus Update” which includes the Student Activities Calendar.  Students may also opt to join the USciences CAB Facebook page which will alert them daily of student events.
