University of Vermont Reslife Family Guide
Buildings
Staff: Each complex is staffed with an Office Manager, Residence Director, and Assistant Residence Director (ARD), as well as a staff of student Resident Advisors (RAs). Click here: https://reslife.uvm.edu/myreslife to obtain contact information and the main desk location for each complex. RAs are on duty from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. Duty phone numbers are posted at each main desk.
Room Inspection Forms: Students' rooms and any suite or shared bathrooms have been inspected prior to their arrival. When students get into the room for the first time they should check over the room forms and stop by the main desk to let us know of any issues that are not listed.
Maintenance Issues: During Opening Weekend, students should report all problems to the main desk of their building or complex. After August 30th they can fill out a "Fix-It" work request at: http://reslife.uvm.edu (bottom of the page). For problems that cannot wait a day (no power, no heat, plumbing issues, lost room key) students should go directly to their main desk or contact the RA on duty.
Furniture Storage: Any furniture provided in a student's room must remain there. The only
exceptions to this are bed ends (if you are renting a loft) and triple furniture if a triple room reverts to a double. Under no circumstances can any furniture items be left in the hallway, as it is against fire-code regulations.
Room Change Waitlist: If a student would like to change rooms they can place themselves on the wait list at https://rlcsweb.uvm.edu. Wait lists open to new students in full triples on August 27 and to everyone else on August 30. Room changes begin approximately two weeks later.
Bike Room: Many halls have indoor bike rooms. If their complex has one, a student can sign out a key to this room for a year after filling out a bike registration form.
