All residence halls close on Friday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m., and our website is packed full of information about moving out. To help your student have a hassle-free checkout, we recommend you read it over as well, on the residence life website.
This year the University's Conference and Event Services will offer commencement housing for families of graduating seniors. The rate will include two nights' stay in a suite in University Heights South and brunch on the day of commencement. Find out more here.
Conference and Event Services is also offering summer housing for current students who are taking classes, working on campus, or planning to return in the fall. Housing will be available in Chittenden and Buckham halls on central campus. More information is available on our website.
Shipping and Storage
We do not offer storage over the summer; however, there are local companies who will assist with shipping and storing your student's items until next semester. Also, UVM Print & Mail/Underground Copy offers a convenient ship-home service and will be on-site in Harris/Millis during the week of closing for packing materials and shipping. For more information: call 656-5886 or visit the UVM Print and Mail Center.
One-Night Late Stay Requests
We do require documentation of the reason the student needs to stay late (such as a plane or train ticket). In cases where a late stay is needed to accommodate a parent who is unable to pick up their student before 8:00 p.m. on Friday, the office manager will need an email directly from the parent. Students were asked to submit late stay requests by May 8.
