University of Wisconsin-Parkside Parent Guide

Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside

Posted in

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, I would like to welcome you. As a parent or loved one of a UW-Parkside student you are now part of the “campus family.” It is important to know the university recognizes parents and loved ones as valuable members of the campus community. We also acknowledge that parents are a major contributor to the success of students as they pursue their educational goals.

You will find that a university is many things: a cluster of buildings, a center for research and scholarly pursuit, and a place where freedom of thought and expression are especially valued and protected. But there can be no university without students!

There are a variety of people here to assist your student. Our faculty care about students and want their learning experiences to be truly rewarding. Our student services staff is committed to helping students attend, remain, achieve and graduate. We are also fortunate to have students who care about one another and who are willing to listen, support and/or offer friendly advice to those experiencing the problems of college life.

Once again, welcome. We are glad you are here.

Sincerely,
Steve McLaughlin Vice Chancellor for Student Services & Dean of Students
