Office of Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) provides equivalent educational opportunities to students with disabilities by making the Vincennes University campus, programs, and services accessible. ODS maintains disability related documents, certifies eligibility for services, and determines reasonable accommodations. Academic accommodations and services are provided on an individual basis determined by documented need. Documentation completed by a qualified professional must be on file in the Office of Disability Services. For more detailed information, see documentation guideline links at vinu.edu/DisabilityServices.

Students are encouraged to send documentation to the Office of Disability Services prior to the start of classes for review. In addition, students should request accommodations early in the semester to receive the optimum benefit.

Labs and Tutoring

Our professors are always willing to help their students. However, sometimes students need help outside the classroom with their academic studies. Vincennes University wants your student to succeed and that is why we offer a broad range of academic labs and study areas for our students. In addition to our many subject specific academic labs, the Kirkwood Academic Skills Center provides free academic support campus wide to all students. If your student is struggling, encourage him or her to seek help early. Furthermore, the Shake Learning Resource Center (the library) also offers a large bank of computers for our students to use as well as special study tables for students to work in groups.
