Board of Regents OKs new programs

The WKU Board of Regents approved several new degree programs, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the Board meeting on January 21st.

The approval of the DNP was necessary in order to forward an application to the Kentucky Board of Nursing, according to Dr. Mary Bennett, director of the School of Nursing. She said the American Association of Colleges of Nursing has identified the DNP as the preferred preparation for specialty nursing practice by 2015...
