Rooftop solar collectors will heat Preston Center pool

The swimming pool at WKU's Raymond B. Preston Health & Activities Center may be indoors but it'll soon be heated by the sun.

A solar thermal array of 88 collectors installed on the Preston Center roof will use the sun's radiant energy to heat the pool. Each collector contains 3.7 gallons of fluid that will transfer heat from the sun to the pool water in a heat exchanger, keeping the pool...

Five to be inducted to WKU Athletic Hall of Fame

Four former Western Kentucky University athletes and one Hilltopper coaching legend will be inducted as the 20th class into the WKU Athletic Hall of Fame in ceremonies set for Homecoming Weekend this fall. 



The members of the 2010 class are:  Chuck Durrant (track);  Al Ellison (men's basketball);  Tellis Frank (men's basketball);  Coach Bill Powell (swimming & diving);  and Joey Stockton (football).

Talk to your Student about Choosing a Major

If your student is a freshman, start talking to him about his major now. Many student's are encouraged to find a major and stick to it by the second year of college. However, the timeline is different for everybody. Here is a list of questions to help guide the conversation with your student.
