Good health is essential to academic success. That’s why Sindecuse Health Center offers lower cost, quality care. Our board certified clinicians provide prompt, convenient service for illness or injury – ensuring your student will be able to perform his or her best. And we’re not just for students who are feeling ill; we have many valuable preventive health services, such as nutrition counseling and massage therapy, to enhance their college careers. Students requiring assistance to transition their medical care from home to Sindecuse can consult with a clinician.

Services include:

  • acute illness and injury care (by appointment or walk-in)
  • immunizations and allergy shots
  • family planning/contraceptive services
  • prescription and over-the-counter drugs at our full-service pharmacy
  • lab and x-ray services
  • physical therapy and athletic training
  • medical social work (for crisis intervention, financial and insurance concerns, patient advocacy, and short-term counseling)
  • psychiatric services (comprehensive)
  • mental healthcare
  • peer education and wellness workshops (programs that support students in making healthy, safe decisions)

We understand cost is an important matter regarding health care. All students are eligible to receive care at the health center, whether or not they are insured. We participate with many insurance plans, and will submit claims to all insurance companies. Michigan Medicaid and the Health Plan of Michigan are also accepted. In addition, coverage may be purchased through WMU’s Student Health Insurance Program – just visit our website to learn more. For a complete list of participating plans, visit Sindecuse Insurance.
