Welcome to our WMU community.

Western Michigan University is committed to parents and families as valued partners in your student's educational process and the Office of Parent and Family Programs is here to serve you! Our services and programs are designed to assist you in support of your student's growth, personal development and overall success.

Parent and Family Programs sponsors campus wide events for students, parents and families, including the annual Family Weekend during fall semester. We provide informational resources about the campus and topics relevant to your student's college years. We are active within the University community and readily accessible to help with any concerns you may have.

I encourage you to visit the Parent and Family Web site. It is the starting point for a wealth of information that will be useful to you throughout your student's college yearsand also activate your free membership to the WMU Family Connection. As a member, you will receive news and information of interest to parents and family members, important reminders and invitations to special seminars, activities and events. E-newsletters include helpful tips for you and your student, important date reminders and we offer a discount program for various area hotels, restaurants and retailers.

Go to WMU Family Connection, enter your e-mail address below and click “Go.” A short membership form will open in a separate window. Complete the form and click “Submit” at the bottom. It’s just that easy!

Mark your calendar for Family Weekend 2010, October 1-3. We are partnering with Homecoming again this year and planning a variety of activities for the entire family. We promise you a fun-filled weekend guaranteed to please everyone.
