The Academic Advising and Learning Center (AALC) guides students in defining their educational plans in relation to their career and life goals. Academic Advising at WOU is a developmental process. Both the student and advisor have a shared responsibility in the ongoing dialogue that helps students maximize their educational experience.
Students are assigned a faculty advisor in their major. Students that are exploratory (have not declared a major), pre-education, pre-nursing are assigned one of the academic advisors in the AALC
All WOU students can meet with the academic advisors in the AALC if they have questions about the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum, academic difficulty or have questions about university policies and procedures.
All undergraduate students are required to meet with their advisors at least once a term until a degree plan is filed with the Registrar’s Office. Students are encouraged to continue meeting with their advisor when they have questions about their classes, degree, graduate/professional school or university policies.
