What campers say about Panther Camp

“Panther Camp is more than three days of fun, it’s three days of interaction, diversity, soul-searching, enjoyment. It ties together academics and all the other perils in life into one, to help freshman transition into college. It’s simply magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“ I didn’t know anyone here and I didn’t know how comfortable I would be with making new friends. And I also didn’t know how I would handle going through my college experience without having people I knew and trusted to go with me through it and help me out when I need it. But, after Panther Camp, I have a strong bond with my Bravo family members and I know if I ever needed anything, I can call on them. Panther Camp also taught me what I would need to know about starting college at FIU, and gave me people and resources to go to whenever I need help. It also gave me opportunities and the confidence to put myself out there to become involved with organizations here at FIU. I know that now, and in the future, I will always look back at Panther Camp as something that really kick-started my freshman year and allowed me to really enjoy my time here at FIU.”

“It’s Made FIU my Dream School!”

“It has made me actually enjoy my FIU experience – this school was not my first choice and I was disappointed in myself to be here. But after camp I realized how blessed I am to be here, there is so much opportunity and I can’t wait to really get involved.”

“Panther Camp has made a tremendous impact on my FIU experience. The first day of school I wasn’t nervous at all because I already had a bunch of Panther Camp friends to rely on and hang out with. It even gave me so much confidence to go out to almost all the campus events that have been offered so far. It made me into a better person and created a confidence in me that I’ve never had my whole life. I left Panther Camp with a family that I could trust and turn to more than people I’ve known my whole life, and that’s saying something. I no longer am afraid of being a freshman at FIU because I know that I’ll carry the P.R.I.D.E with me always.”
