Guest Expert and Personal Essay Posts

Thank you for your interest in writing for UniversityParent. We are always excited to share new voices and viewpoints with our audience and look forward to reviewing your submission.

General guidelines for guest submissions

  • Originality: Submissions must be original, not previously published. You retain ownership of your article/essay but, if you do publish elsewhere at a later date, please reference that the work originally appeared on UniversityParent and link to our website. When re-posting on your own website or blog, please link to the original version of your article/essay on our site.
  • Quality: Your essay/article should be well written, requiring little or no editing, and should address parents (not students).
  • Length: 600-1200 words (preferred).
  • Sources and statistics: Please cite sources appropriately, with links included, and be sure that statistics, if used, are up to date.
  • Photos and images: You may submit a high quality photo (700px) to include with your guest post if you own the copyright. We reserve the right to substitute our own photo.
  • Publication and sharing: All guest submissions accepted for publication may be posted on our website, distributed through our parent eNewsletters, and/or shared through our social media. We are happy to link to your personal blog, website or social media page in your author bio. Once your article is published, we encourage you to share it through your own social media or on your blog, website, etc.

There are two ways for guest writers to be featured on UniversityParent:

Guest Expert articles

We invite submissions from experts on any topic of interest to high school and college parents. Guest expert posts should provide general information and insights rather than promoting a particular product or service. (If you’re interested in submitting promotional content, click here).

To avoid sending an article that duplicates content already on our site, please browse our content library. Then, please fill out the form below, or submit your guest post to UniversityParent here.
