I am French, born and raised in Paris. A former videographer for the scientific community, I have a B.S. from Aix-Marseille II (Science) and an M.S. in Environment and Archaeology from Paris Nanterre (Paris 10).
I started teaching 10 years ago when I started a PhD at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. Sharing my French culture is a passion and I would love to help you turn your language learning from a struggle into a fun and enjoyable experience.
I teach conversationally...

Alexandre makes it easy to continue learning my french each week. He engages me to talk in our lessons, which exposes what I need to learn and practice, and I find that I am self motivated to pick up questions over the week, which I bring back to him. He's very flexible about when we meet so I can always get in a class once a week, and because he's an interesting and fun person, it's always a pleasure to meet and do not feel like a chore or work at all.

Alexandre took time to find French newspaper articles on the things that interest me to work on my pronunciation and vocabulary. It is so lovely to have him come over to my apartment to speak french for an hour. Highly recommend for adults, teens, children--- great teaching method/lots of patience/ very kind.

Well rounded tutor, engaging, is able to access the students strengths and where they need help from the get go, both subjectively and objectively. He comes with a plan, the best way to re-enforce what was learnt and use that as a platform to attain further fluency, using different modalities, written, audio and visual based on the students personality and interests. Doesn't take things for granted, covers all bases - vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and listening comprehension as well as encouraging the student to converse in a very relaxed way.

He brought to his lesson an enthusiasm that rubbed off on my daughter. He gave us some great suggestions for going forward and that we can work on together. He is very responsive and I was totally comfortable having this stranger in my house, tutoring my daughter. Thanks!

I have only had 3 lessons this week with Alexandre. He is eager to find ways to work with my yearning to excel in French; as well as working around my schedule.
You will not be disappointed!

Alex is an extremely professional, knowledgeable and efficient tutor. He started by briefly introducing himself in French and then he proceeded to ask me to do the same. He made notes as I spoke to record areas where I could improve; he quickly developed a diagnostic and proposed exercises that will help me reach my stated objectives in a realistic amount of time. He was very knowledgeable of the common challenges native English speakers make when speaking French, and more importantly he had actionable solutions.
