John reached out before our first meeting to get a sense of what we needed so that we were all better prepared which we really appreciated. My son and I really liked John and felt like my son really go a lot out of his first session. John's follow-up and offered plan for going forward was incredibly thorough and we look forward to working with John on calculus prep.

John is a tremendous communicator with the ability to analyze and clarify the complexities of European history. He is patient, thoughtful, astute and can quickly identify areas where the student needs additional reinforcement and training. I highly recommend him to high school students as well as those in college.

John taught me linear algebra and was an immense help. He knows the topic deeply and easily comes up with real-world scenarios that help me to understand the meaning and purpose of the topic. Highly recommended.

John did a fabulous job for us in helping our (homeschooled) high school student prepare for his AP exam. It was our student's first time preparing for an AP exam, so he wanted some support.
What was great about John was not just that he knows the stuff cold, can relate to the student, etc. What separates him is that he is thoughtful and HONEST about how the tutoring should actually work. So many tutors are just happy to schedule as many hours as possible (with as little out of class work for themselves as possible). But John came up with a plan that actually *limited* his own time in class and required him to do some out of class work -- all so that our student could do as much independent work on his own as possible. In this case, the "right" solution meant more work and less revenue for John as a tutor -- but he still did it! Bravo. And the approach is working great.
I can't more highly recommend John if you want to be sure you learn what you want to learn in the very best way possible.

John is simply fantastic. A humble, patient and knowledgeable tutor with the ability to distill complex concepts into basic principles to help build a foundation to further grow off of. John was involved in coaching and explaining the problem sets associated with Python/R, descriptive statistics and neural networks/decision trees. This approach was highly valued as it allowed for a better understanding of the core principles underpinning the broader task at hand. John comes highly recommended for those sincerely interested in truly mastering a particular topic.

I had a great experience with John. He actually explained every line to me in Python, and seemed to know what he was doing. He is amazingly patient as well, and a cat lover, which is a bonus. He is also from Harvard, which is a plus.
