Personal Statement

Hello parents and students,

My name is Simon and I am a software engineer at Peloton Cycle (and have previously worked at places like LinkedIn, Bloomberg, and Palantir). I tutor because I enjoy simplifying complex concepts and I love seeing the "aha!" moment when a student makes a breakthrough in understanding a new difficult concept. Simon tutored my daughter for the SAT. He is very thorough in his explanations, and helped to give her more confidence leading up to the test. She was very happy to work with him.

Simon is an amazing computer science tutor who understands how to explain the concepts in a very simple and easy-to-understand way. One thing I like about the way he teaches is that he relates a lot of the Computer Science concepts that we review to his own work as a software engineer to show why a certain concept is important. Working with him makes assignments go by much faster since he's quickly able to identify and ask the right questions to get me to identify the mistakes in my code. I highly recommend Simon as a CS tutor.

Simon is the best CS tutor ever. He is able to break down the problem and guide you step by step. He encourages you to learn and troubleshoot yourself. Being extremely accomplished and a working professional in the field, He is able to immediately spot common mistakes and teacher you relevant processes. He is also patient and able to relate to difficulties that students face when doing work. Highly recommended.

Simon helped me a lot in regards to my transfer applications! He tried really hard to get to know me, and he offered brilliant suggestions on how I should structure my essays! The best part is that he taught me how to think like a college admission officer, so that every single sentence in my essay is saying something about either my personality or my accomplishments! Highly recommended!
