By Victoria Robertson, Uloop
According to a recent press release, Reminder Services announced the launch of a new scholarship program on Friday, September 1 of this year.
For those unfamiliar with the organization, Reminder Services, Inc. is a provider of automated communications for the healthcare industry.
In other words, Reminder Services, Inc. is a company that provides automated appointment reminders. The company is based in Silicon-Valley and works with many Physical Therapy EHRs, EMRs, and scheduling software products.
Essentially, what the company does is allow therapists to send appointment reminder calls, reminder text messages, and even reminder emails to their patients. The service is run through ReminderCall.com and is perfect for therapists that want to ensure their patients are getting the best services possible.
And, an additional plus is that therapists can customize absolutely everything, from voices and languages to the delivery dates, times, and frequencies.
In addition, the service helps therapists adhere to FCC, TCPA, CANSPAM, HIPAA, and CASL guidelines.
So, as a parent, what does this have to do with your student?
The new scholarship program from Reminder Services, Inc. is meant for students pursuing an education in physical therapy. The age of technology is upon us, and your students need to be equipped to handle such changes while simultaneously moving forward in their chosen career education.
While many are likely unfamiliar with this program, working professionals looking to maintain efficiency while simultaneously ensuring their patients are given the best possible care are relying on this program. So, it only makes sense that the company set forth a scholarship program to bring in new, fresh minds into physical therapy that are willing to utilize this tool in their professional careers as well.
So yes, the scholarship program is mutually beneficial, and it might just help to set your student apart from the others in their program. It always helps to get ahead of the game when it comes to your professional and academic careers, so this is a giant step forward for your student.
This scholarship is in its inaugural year, and it’s a big one. The Physical Therapy Scholarship awards $1,000 to up to five students within physical therapy who, according to the press release, “exhibit academic excellence and a strong sense of personal commitment to continuing their education.”
While the cost of college is at an all-time high, any little bit helps, and a $1,000 prize for a student that’s truly exemplary in the field is a positive resume booster as well.
As a parent, this is definitely something to push your students to apply for, as this is a great money saver and a technology that’s going to be integral in your students’ success in their occupation.
According to Chantal Oicles, President of Reminder Services:
“ReminderCall.com has been providing patient reminders to physical therapists since 1998. Over the years we’ve come to realize that the physical therapy field is often overlooked by scholarship grantors. We’re excited to help aspiring PTs fund their education. It’s our way of thanking the physical therapy community for welcoming us with open arms.”
So how does your student apply for the scholarship?
Eligible applicants visit the website and must submit their applications by Halloween, October 31, 2017. So this deadline is coming up fast, and applications are already pouring in.
And how do you know if your student is eligible for the scholarship?
Eligible applicants must be U.S. residents that are enrolled in college currently as a sophomore, junior, or senior. No freshman applicants will be considered. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply. The student must be enrolled in a physical therapy program at an accredited college for the 2017-2018 academic year.
In addition, the student applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
In order to bring this scholarship program forward, Reminder Services partnered with International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS). ISTS is an independent scholarship management company that hosts the online application process, selects recipients, and disburses the awards for this scholarship program. So all processes related to this scholarship program will go directly through ISTS. To learn more about them, you can visit their website.
To learn more about this scholarship program, and to see if your student meets the minimum qualifications, you can visit Remindercall.com. The site outlines all requirements, has the application materials, and offers information for parents that have additional questions that may not have been addressed by the press release.
All applications will be accepted until October 31, so make sure you sit down and speak with your college students regarding their future sooner rather than later.
Good luck to all applicants!
