Parent Programs is a one-stop service for parents of Benedictine students. We respond to parent inquiries and provide information on a variety of issues to encourage communication between parents and the University.
The Benedictine Parent Association is a University-supported, volunteer-led organization established to strengthen the tie between Benedictine and the families of current students by involving parents in campus activities which promote the University and enrich the undergraduate college experience. All Benedictine parents are automatically members and many opportunities exist to get involved in the Benedictine community.

Benedictine fields 20 teams that compete on the NCAA Division III level: men’s football, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, and indoor and outdoor track and field; and women’s volleyball, basketball, softball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, indoor and outdoor track and field, soccer, tennis, and dance and cheerleading. Nearly 450 students participate in intercollegiate sports at Benedictine University.
The Department of Athletics at Benedictine seeks to prepare each student-athlete to be a champion of leadership. By establishing an atmosphere where academic distinction, personal integrity, respect for all, community service and athletic excellence is expected, the Department of Athletics strives to develop well-rounded and informed citizens who carry the Benedictine values throughout their lives.
The Eagle Club is an annual fundraising program that is committed to supporting Benedictine athletics. In accordance with the policies and procedures of the NCAA, the fund was established in response to the rising expenses of operating an athletic department. The Eagle Club is a board-based group of alumni, community supporters and friends of Benedictine athletics who assist in the University’s commitment to excellence.
Career Development at Benedictine provides job search assistance to students and alumni seeking full-time, part-time and internship positions. Benedictine is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunity and students are referred without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, age or national origin.
Career counselors meet with students to discuss opportunities, prepare resumes and establish goals for what students need and want to learn.
Sodexo Dining Services at Benedictine University provides students and guests with outstanding dining options at the Krasa Center Dining Room, the Coal Ben and the Kindlon Hall Coffee Shop. Dining Services at Benedictine is always striving to bring new and improved offerings to our guests. Students may choose from a variety of meal plans whether they reside in residence halls, campus apartments or commute to campus.
Residence Life and Commuter Services
Benedictine considers residential life an important element of the college experience and offers a variety of housing options: all-male, all-female or coeducational residences in a mix of residence hall rooms, suites and apartments.
- Ondrak Hall, located on the south end of campus, is a male-only hall with two-student occupancy per room.
- Jaeger Hall is an all-female hall with two-student occupancy per room on four floors.
- Ondrak and Jaeger feature free laundry facilities, cable TV, and a computer lab with Internet access and printer.
- Neuzil Hall, located on the north end of campus, is a coeducational residence facility for upper-classmen which features suite-style rooms with three-student occupancy per room. Each suite contains two bedrooms and one bath with shower. Free laundry facilities and cable TV are available.
- Founders’ Woods contains two- and four-bedroom apartment homes for upperclassmen. These apartment homes are affordable and conveniently located at Benedictine University, allowing for an easy walk to any place on campus. Each building features cable TV and free laundry facilities.
Commuter Services was established to enhance the experience of commuter students through services, programs and advocacy while encouraging students to become engaged participants of the Benedictine University community. Commuter Services offers commuter lockers, the “Commuter Compass” newsletter and events for commuter students. The Commuter Student assistant program matches freshman and transfer students with a Commuter Student assistant who helps the commuter connect to the campus community. Students can choose from more than 40 extracurricular organizations and clubs. Each has a faculty advisor. Student organizations are formed around mutual interests such as the student newspaper, The Candor, the Political Science Student Organization (which hosts candidate forums and brings other political figures to campus) and the Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society.
Other student organizations include the Investment Club, which manages more than $100,000 of the University’s endowment while teaching students responsible investment; Model United Nations, one of the University’s most decorated extracurricular organizations; Best Buddies, which enhances the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing opportunities for one-on-one friendships; and Club 350, a group that seeks to protect the environment.

Student Health Services
The goal of Student Health Services is to help students maintain an optimal level of good health in hopes that they will reach their full potential and get the most out of their college experience. Student Health Services does not replace the family doctor, but rather provides assessment and treatment that is convenient, cost effective, and reduces students’ absence from campus activities.
Student Success Center
The Student Success Center supports students’ academic, personal and professional development with resources and services to maximize their academic success, enhance their college experience and better prepare them for further study or the workforce.
The center engages students by providing support for academic work as well as co-curricular activities and professional goals.
The Student Success Center’s services include:
- Academic support and tutoring functions.
- Accommodation services for students with disabilities.
- Advising and related support for undecided majors, students on academic probation and continuing probation.
- Leadership development.
- Supplemental education and service learning.
- Comprehensive career development services, including assessment, internship services, career education programs, job search functions and career resources.
University Ministry is an integral part of student development and campus life at Benedictine. We offer programs and services that assist in the spiritual growth of our students, staff and administration. We celebrate the diversity of faiths at Benedictine. All are welcome and highly encouraged to become involved in the many opportunities in ministry. University Ministry is located on the main floor of the Krasa Student Center and is always open.
